It's easy to believe that childhood is a hindrance when one is not a child. It is also easy to misjudge a child's entertainment as a "flight of fancy". There are many reasons why an adult does such an ignorant thing as shrug off such power. Adults can be jealous, scared, confused, or simply uncaring of an ability to mold the universe at whim. Children can see many things that sadly a "grown-up" cannot. Why should the teachers fear the velociraptor that just magically appeared in the playground? Why should adults care about a six year old that just returned from mars with a ferocious tiger as a wagon co-pilot?
